The new Mercedes-Benz SLK, due out next spring, will be the automaker's first vehicle with on-board Internet access via its Command infotainment platform, AutoWeek sister publication Automobilwoche has learned from company sources. Tourists flocking to one of Britain's favourite musical landmarks to recreate the Beatles' Abbey Road crossing could see the addition of a "lollipop lady" to their holiday snaps. Westminster Council has raised safety fears over the "thousands and thousands" of people who visit the zebra crossing, in St John's Wood, north London, made famous by the band in 1969. In some cases, fans are putting themselves at risk of frustrated drivers who often struggle to make it over the crossing because of the constant stream of pedestrians attempting to recreate the image.
Toyota is set to unveil its GRMN Sports Hybrid Concept II at the forth-coming Nürburgring 24-hour endurance race taking place this weekend. GRMN is an abbreviation of 'GAZOO Racing tuned by MN'. Gazoo being the Japanese motorsport specialist that has a loose affinity to Toyota following a collaboration on the iQ city car, whilst MN makes reference to ‘Meister of Nürburgring' or Hiromu Naruse; the Toyota test driver tragically killed behind the wheel of a Lexus LFA last year.
